Scientific position – Computer science applied to neuroscience
CONTEXT:
VENTIO is a start-up located in Marseille with an activity centered on the secure processing of biomedical imaging data on the cloud. Expert in information security and personal data protection, VENTIO develops innovative automated image processing services accessible in SaaS mode on the cloud with healthcare applications. Ventio is a company committed to research into neurodegenerative diseases.
As a part of innovation support program supported by the regional investment for the future program (PIA4-Région Sud), Ventio is recruiting a young scientist in computer science applied to neuroscience.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The candidate will need to have a background in the data processing of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and in the segmentation of cerebral images. Knowledge of MRI sequences for data acquisition and of the main medical imaging systems will be highly appreciated. The person recruited will also be responsible for linking biomedical images to clinical data. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the writing of technical reports and scientific articles, and to present their work at national and international conferences.
These activities will be carried out in conjunction with the company’s management team and the person in charge of quality and project management.
SKILLS REQUIRED OR DEVELOPED:
Recruitment with a PhD (physics, computer science, medical imaging, neuroscience or related field).
- Theoretical and/or practical knowledge of MRI and neuroscience applications;
- Computer development tools (Python);
- Design innovative MRI data/image analysis and segmentation methods;
- Carry out, reproduce and analyse experiments;
- Designing and implementing methods for analysing health data;
- Supervising trainees;
- Monitoring scientific developments;
- Writing technical and scientific reports;
- Participate in project monitoring meetings.
TYPE OF CONTRACT AND REMUNERATION:
Remuneration in accordance with the Syntec collective agreement.
The company’s working hours are flexible, with face-to-face work in our offices (Place de l’Innovation, Allée Gambetta, Marseille) and the possibility of teleworking.
