QSMetric Potential Indications – Huntington disease
Discover a potential indication of QSMetric™ technology.
Huntington’s disease is a rare, hereditary neurodegenerative disorder. There is an adult form and an even rarer juvenile form. It is characterized by motor and cognitive disorders.
The diagnosis of Huntington’s disease is based on the family context and suggestive signs. PET-Scan and MRI imaging are used to establish a differential diagnosis and to assess atrophy of the caudate and putamen. QSM has been shown to be significantly increased in patients with caudate, putamen and globus pallidus atrophy. QSM is thus relevant to monitor new therapies.
